Papers of the Peabody Museum of American Archaeology and Ethnology, Harvard University
A volume of the Peabody Museum's archaeology and ethnology papers, issued by the museum at Harvard in 1904 for scholars of American antiquities. The plates are ink line redrawings copied from Maya codices and carved monuments: serpents, turtles, crocodilians, seated deities with elaborate headdresses, and glyph cartouches, numbered and grouped on the page, usable as flat-contour motifs, ornament, or comparative figure sets.
