The Paul Revere album : containing a complete description of Goss' "Life of Col. Paul Revere," and more than twenty engravings with descriptions of incidents in the life of the hero of the "Midnight ride," April 18, 1775
An advertising album issued in 1904 by the Howard W. Spurr Coffee Co. of Boston, reprinting engravings from Goss's life of Paul Revere with captions on episodes of the 1775 midnight ride, distributed to coffee customers as a patriotic premium. The plates mix wash-tone night scenes of a rider spurring past fenced farmhouses under a full moon with crisp pen-and-ink daylight roads and a profile head study, useful for horse-and-rider silhouettes, moonlit landscape texture, and colonial costume detail.
