Peasant art in Austria and Hungary
A 1911 survey of Austrian and Hungarian folk art issued by The Studio in London and New York, edited by Charles Holme with texts by A. S. Levetus and Aladár Kriesch for designers, collectors and craft reformers. The plates photograph embroidered linens, cloth borders and kerchiefs in dense black-on-white floral repeats, giving usable motifs: pomegranate and carnation heads, scrolling stems, scalloped edgings and mirrored band patterns.
