The phenomena and order of the solar system
A popular astronomy treatise by Glasgow professor John Pringle Nichol, issued in New York in 1843 for general readers following lectures on the solar system. Line engravings show gridded globes inside orbital circles, dotted great-circle arcs with lettered points, nested planetary paths radiating from a rayed sun, and tilted comet tracks crossing ring systems — usable as spare geometric diagram stock.
