Philips' pictorial pocket atlas and gazetteer
A pocket atlas and gazetteer issued by George Philip & Son in London in 1900, made for British travellers, clerks and students needing quick reference to places and colonial possessions. The plates are small lithographed maps in pale pink, green, yellow and blue washes, dense with engraved place names, coastlines, rail lines and inset panels usable as textures, borders or period cartographic fragments.
