Philosophie des beaux-arts appliquée à la peinture
David Sutter's treatise on the philosophy of fine art applied to painting, published in Paris by Veuve A. Morel in 1870 for artists and art theorists. The pictures held here are not plates but the binding's marbled endpapers: yellow, red and dark green veins forming a webbed comb pattern over tan ribbed paper, usable as tiled backgrounds, cover stock or texture overlays.
