Philothei symbola christiana : quibus idea hominis christiani exprimitur
A Latin emblem book of Christian symbols, published at Frankfurt by J. P. Zubrod in 1677 and associated with Karl Ludwig, Elector Palatine, aimed at learned devotional readers. The 106 engravings are circular medallions ringed by a motto band, each holding a small landscape with towers, trees, sunbursts, clouds, serpents and hands emerging from the sky, drawn in fine hatched line; designers can lift the roundel-with-lettering frame, the ray-burst suns, and the compact vignette landscapes.
