The Photographic art-journal
A monthly trade periodical edited by Henry Hunt Snelling and printed in New York by W.B. Smith in 1851, addressed to working daguerreotypists, photographic suppliers, and artists. The plates are small wood-engraved apparatus diagrams: plate boxes with lettered points and ruled scales, numbered fan-segment wheels on turned columns, all drawn in thin outline with fine hatched shading, useful as technical ornament and numbered-dial motifs.
