A 1917 American school textbook by Alice Florer and Orlin H. Venner, published in Chicago and Lincoln, presenting 105 famous paintings for classroom study and wall decoration. The plates are small, coarse-screened halftones of European and American canvases: pastoral groves, shepherds with flocks, cottage interiors by lamplight, figure studies with numbered corners, useful as grainy, low-key tonal texture.
