Épigraphie romaine du Poitou [et] de la Saintonge

Espérandieu, Émile, 1857- · 1895 · Melle, E. Lacuve · 88 pictures

A regional corpus of Latin inscriptions from Poitou and Saintonge, compiled by the French epigrapher Émile Espérandieu and published at Melle in 1895 for antiquarians and classical scholars. The plates are pen and pencil facsimiles of carved stones — altars, milestones, funerary slabs and stamped tiles — showing incised Roman capitals, broken edges and hatched shadow, useful for lettering models, weathered stone texture and fragment silhouettes.
