Ricci, Giuseppe, ca. 1600-1669, Fabris, Joannes Baptista de · 1662 · Venetijs : In D. Luc[a]e templo · 45 pictures

A set of engraved theses sheets published in Venice in 1662, dedicating Aristotelian philosophical propositions to Giorgio Cornaro, Bishop of Padua, drawn up by Giuseppe Ricci with plates by Joannes Baptista de Fabris for an academic disputation audience. Each plate frames two numbered Latin statements in an oval within scrollwork cartouches carrying winged putti heads, bearded grotesque masks, dolphins, urns and laurel sprigs, giving designers a stock of ready-made label frames and ornamental borders.
