A guide to the paintings and sculptures of Modena, written by Gian Filiberto Pagani and printed in 1770 by the heirs of Bartolomeo Soliani, ducal printers, for local readers and art travellers. The plates are letterpress woodcut ornaments: symmetrical cartouches of C-scrolls and acanthus, flower baskets, urns, birds and hatched grounds, usable as headpieces, tailpieces and frame elements.
