Planning a world metropolis
A 1909 magazine article by Henry M. Hyde, printed in Chicago for Technical World, reporting the Commercial Club's Burnham plan to a general readership. Plates are duotone halftones in olive and buff: aerial perspectives of boulevards, civic domes and lakefront, plus etched street views, all set in ruled Beaux-Arts borders with pilasters and corner blocks.
