La plante et ses applications ornementales
A French design portfolio edited by Eugène Grasset and drawn by Maurice Pillard Verneuil and his circle, issued in Paris in 1896 for decorators, wallpaper and textile designers, and craft students. Each colour lithographed plate takes one plant — lily of the valley, wisteria, dandelion, iris — and works it into flat repeating fields, narrow borders and corner panels in muted olive, slate blue and ochre, giving designers ready tiling patterns, stylised flower silhouettes and Art Nouveau border strips.
