Plate printing and die stamping; how to operate a department for copperplate and steel-die engraving and printing
A 1917 trade manual by Robert Francis Salade, issued in New York by the Oswald Publishing Company, instructing printers and shop managers on running a copperplate and steel-die engraving and printing department. The plates are halftone photographs of shop machinery isolated on pale grounds: cast-iron hand presses, geared die-stamping machines, pantograph engravers and lever punches, useful for silhouetted machine forms, cast-iron leg curves, and lettered maker's badges.
