A 1910 games manual by Emmett Dunn Angell, published in Boston by Little, Brown, setting out tag, circle, and team games plus girls' basket-ball rules for kindergarten teachers, schoolroom instructors, and playground and college coaches. The plates are grainy halftone photographs of children and young women mid-game on open fields and gymnasium floors, shot from above or at a distance, useful for silhouetted figure groups, period sportswear, and the flat gray tonal texture of early sports photography.
