The playwork book
A 1918 instruction manual by Ann Macbeth, teacher at the Glasgow School of Art, published in New York by R.M. McBride for adults making toys and simple crafts with children. The 64 pictures are numbered pen-and-ink diagrams of cut wood, sticks, string and paper assembled into windmills, whirligigs and frames, drawn in plain outline with occasional hatching, usable as diagram vocabulary, spare toy silhouettes, and figure-numbered construction sequences.
