Poor Will's almanack, for the year of our Lord ...

Andrews, William, Waring, William, Collom, William · 1770 · Philadelphia : Printed and sold by J. Crukshank · 14 pictures

Poor Will's Almanack is a yearly Philadelphia almanac of calendars, weather notes and astronomical tables, calculated by William Andrews and successors and printed by Joseph Crukshank from 1770 for farmers, tradesmen and country households. The cuts are small horizontal woodblocks of monthly labor — mowing, cutting corn, gathering fruit, a loaded hay wagon, boys with hoops — with hatched skies and clumped foliage that suit borders, headers and seasonal spot art.
