Popular electricity magazine in plain English
Popular Electricity Magazine in Plain English was a monthly issued by the Popular Electricity Publishing Company in Chicago in 1912 to explain electrical technology to general readers. Halftone news photographs run in tilted overlapping montages and inset panels: uniformed crews outside a substation, men at work in a cramped darkroom car, cable-laying, a globe fitted with an artificial night sky, all with small typeset captions.
