A popular treatise on gems, in reference to their scientific value; a guide for the teacher of natural sciences, the jeweller, and amateur: together with a description of the elements of mineralogy, and all ornamental and architectural materials ..
An 1859 New York handbook on gems, building stones and mineralogy by Lewis Feuchtwanger, issued by D. Appleton for teachers, jewellers and collectors. The plates are small line diagrams of crystal forms—cubes, octahedra, dodecahedra and combined solids—drawn in solid outline with dashed hidden edges on toned paper, giving designers ready-made geometric solids, wireframe polyhedra and dashed-line construction marks.
