The power of form applied to geometric tracery : one hundred designs and their foundations resulting from one diagram
A pattern-design manual by the Scottish architect Robert William Billings, published for himself in Edinburgh and London in 1851, deriving a hundred tracery designs from a single circular diagram for architects and ornamental draughtsmen. The plates are fine-line geometric constructions — circles inscribed in circles, crossed axes, tangent arcs, numbered centre points and dotted guide lines — usable as pattern armatures, rosette layouts, technical line motifs and construction-drawing texture.
