Practical cotton calculations : a treatise relating to cotton yarn, cloth structure, loom and miscellaneous cotton mill calculations
A technical manual on cotton yarn, cloth structure and loom calculations, written by Ernest Whitworth and published in Fall River, Massachusetts, in 1901 for mill overseers, designers and textile students. The plates are wood-engraved three-quarter views of carding machines, looms and jacquard heads, often with maker's names cast into the frames, shown on blank ground with hatched shadows; useful for machine silhouettes, gear and belt-drive detail, and period lettering on metal.
