Practical and efficient spinning
A 1913 trade manual on cotton spinning practice issued by Clark Publishing in Charlotte, North Carolina, for mill superintendents, overseers and spinning-room hands in the Southern textile industry. Its plates are coarse halftone head-and-shoulders portraits of mill men in suits, wing collars and bow ties, printed dark and grainy, alongside dense two-column body text that a designer can lift for period portrait vignettes or industrial typographic texture.
