Practical sewing and dressmaking
Sara May Allington's 1913 instructional manual, published in Boston by D. Estes & Company, taught home sewers and dressmaking students to draft and construct garments. The plates are line diagrams of pattern blocks—bodices, sleeves, skirts, trousers—ruled with lettered construction points, dashed guide curves and handwritten labels like "gathers" and "edge of paper", useful as technical linework or grid-based ornament.
