The practice of typography; a treatise on the processes of type-making, the point system, the names, sizes, styles and prices of plain printing types
A technical treatise on type-making, the point system, and the sizes and prices of printing types, written by the New York printer Theodore Low De Vinne and published by The Century Co. in 1899 for printers, typefounders and trade apprentices. The plates are wood-engraved line cuts of type moulds, matrices and casting parts drawn in three-quarter view, with parallel-ruled and cross-hatched shading marking each face and letter keys on the metal; useful as isometric machine-part diagrams, hatching textures and clean mechanical silhouettes.
