Praeraphaelite diaries and letters
A documentary collection of diaries and correspondence from the Pre-Raphaelite circle, edited by William Michael Rossetti and published in London by Hurst and Blackett in 1900 for readers following Victorian art history. The plates reproduce pencil and pen sketches by Dante Gabriel Rossetti and Ford Madox Brown, including a profile head study, a caricature of a seated man reading with a handwritten caption, a loose chalk figure group, and a sundial diagram, offering soft graphite shading, quick contour lines and marginal annotation.
