Pre-Raphaelitism and the pre-Raphaelite brotherhood
William Holman Hunt's two-volume memoir and history of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, published by Macmillan in New York and London in 1905 for artists, collectors and readers following the Victorian art world. The plates reproduce paintings, etchings and pen studies by Hunt, Millais, Rossetti and their circle in photogravure and line, giving designers crowded narrative interiors, figure groups in period dress, and loose preparatory sketches with visible hatching.
