Pre-Raphaelitism and the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood
William Holman Hunt's two-volume memoir and history of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, published by Macmillan in London and New York in 1905 for an art-reading public of collectors, students and critics. The 94 plates are halftone and photogravure reproductions of paintings and drawings by Hunt, Rossetti, Millais and their circle, plus preparatory studies and portraits, offering densely patterned medieval interiors, English pastoral scenes, crowded figure compositions and ornamental borders.
