Principles and practice of show-card writing, prepared in the Extension divison of the University of Wisconsin
A 1922 McGraw-Hill instructional manual on show-card lettering and sign writing, written by Lawrence E. Blair for the University of Wisconsin Extension division's correspondence students. The indexed plates, however, are halftone photographs of interiors — a panelled square hall in a city house, leaded windows, a church nave with candlesticks, a working kitchen with ranks of copper pans — usable as grainy period room references and tonal backgrounds.
