Printing and bookbinding for schools
A 1914 manual-textbook by Samuel Jesse Vaughn, issued by the Public School Publishing Company of Bloomington, Illinois, teaching printing and bookbinding to manual-training students and their teachers. Halftone photographs and diagrams show type locked in chases, composing sticks, galleys, imposition schemes, book covers in progress, and stacks of finished bindings, giving designers plain grey-toned images of press furniture, stepped paper forms and rectangular frames usable as abstract geometric plates.
