A needlework pattern manual of crocheted centerpieces and doilies, edited by Belle Robinson for the Priscilla Publishing Company in Boston in 1915, sold to home crocheters working from written directions. Halftone photographs show each finished piece centered on a dark ground, so the white lace reads as a radial silhouette: pineapple points, scalloped picot edges, spoke and wheel fills.
