A scholarly edition of the minutes of the Académie royale d'architecture in Paris, 1671-1793, edited by Henry Lemonnier for the Société de l'histoire de l'art français and issued by J. Schemit in 1911 for historians of French art and architecture. The plates are emblematic rather than architectural: the society's cartouche device with scrolled strapwork and the motto ARTIBVS PATRIAE, the Academy's oval seal ringed with laurel and fleurs-de-lis around a small temple front, and an engraved foundation medal showing a helmeted figure among columns, capitals and drafting tools.
