Prodromus of a practical treatise on the mathematical arts: containing directions for surveying and engineering
Amos Eaton's 1838 Troy, New York manual of surveying and civil engineering, issued as a preliminary text for students and field practitioners of the mathematical arts. The plates are line diagrams: lettered and numbered survey plots, triangulated field boundaries, and dotted, dashed, and solid base lines, usable as spare geometric motifs, technical line-weight patterns, and abstract angular compositions.
