The progressive drawing-book : containing a series of easy and comprehensive lessons for drawing landscape, architecture, the human figure, shipping, and animals, &c. without the aid of a master : also, a complete treatise on perspective, with nearly three hundred engravings
A self-instruction drawing manual issued by H.G. Bohn in London in 1853, teaching landscape, architecture, figures, shipping and animals to amateurs working without a master. Pen-and-ink studies sit several to a page as loose vignettes: thatched cottages, half-timbered houses, ruined towers, arched bridges, signposts, gates, carts and stooping labourers, useful as small spot drawings and texture samples.
