Pumping engines for water works
A 1907 engineering handbook by Charles Arthur Hague, published in New York by McGraw, covering the pumping engines used in municipal waterworks for engineers, plant operators and machinery buyers. The plates mix manufacturers' halftone photographs of flywheels, air chambers, bed plates and compound framing against plain grounds with line-engraved sectional drawings of cylinders and plungers, giving designers cutaway machine anatomy, bolted-flange detail and numbered figure captions.
