Puzzles old and new
A compendium of mechanical and mathematical puzzles compiled by Professor Hoffmann (Angelo Lewis) and published by Frederick Warne in London in 1893 for Victorian parlour amusement. The diagrams are small line blocks of dissected squares, tangram-like polygons and wire-and-block devices, shaded with dense hatching and solid black fills that read as flat geometric emblems.
