The quicksilver resources of California
A California State Mining Bureau survey of mercury mines by William Forstner, printed in Sacramento in 1903 for mining engineers, investors and state officials. Pictures combine hand-lettered geological cross-sections marking serpentine, sandstone and vein depths, two-color surface plans of mine workings and tramways, and halftone photographs of mineral display cases and mine buildings.
