Qvadrins historiqves de la Bible
A French illustrated Bible picture-book, with quatrains by Claude Paradin and Charles Fontaine and woodcuts by Bernard Salomon, printed by Jean de Tournes at Lyon in 1558 for lay readers. Small dense cuts pair biblical scenes with four-line verses: crowds in robes, tents and walled towns, clouds with rays, dragons and flames, useful for figure groups, landscape backgrounds and hatched skies.
