Ragionamento di Luca Contile sopra la proprietà delle imprese con le particolari de gli academici Affidati et con le interpretationi et croniche ..
A treatise on the making and reading of imprese by the Sienese writer Luca Contile, printed at Pavia in 1574 by Girolamo Bartoli, cataloguing the personal devices of the Accademia degli Affidati for its noble and learned members. Each engraving sets a small landscape with an emblematic object inside an elaborate strapwork cartouche hung with fruit, trophies, herms and putti, with a Latin motto on a ribbon and the member's byname below — usable as ready-made frames, banderoles and border ornament.
