Rambles in Cairo
A guidebook to the Islamic monuments of Cairo by Henriette Devonshire, printed in Cairo in 1917 for English-speaking residents and visitors walking the city's mosques and tombs. The 88 halftone photographs record brick and stone facades, recessed portals with muqarnas hoods, minaret shafts, inscription panels and bare courtyards, useful as coarse-grained architectural texture and as reference for Mamluk ornament and lettering.
