Rambles in the Pyrenees and the adjacent districts, Gascony, Pays de Foix [and] Roussillon

Jackson, F. Hamilton (Frederick Hamilton), 1848-1923 · 1912 · London, Murray · 132 pictures

A travel and architecture account of the Pyrenees, Gascony, Foix and Roussillon, written and illustrated by the English artist F. Hamilton Jackson for Murray in London, 1912, aimed at reading travellers. The pen drawings favour cloister arcades, ruined apses, stone bridges and Romanesque carving, worked in dense crosshatching with strong blacks — useful line stock for spot art, borders and ornament studies.
