Rambles in the Pyrenees and the adjacent districts, Gascony, Pays de Foix, & Roussillon
A traveller's account of the Pyrenees, Gascony, the Pays de Foix and Roussillon, written and illustrated by the English painter and architectural draughtsman F. Hamilton Jackson and published by Dutton in New York in 1912 for English-speaking tourists and students of architecture. The plates are pen-and-ink drawings, built from dense hatching and stipple, of ruined abbey churches, cloister arcades, carved capitals and village skylines seen through trees, with clear white paper left as light and useful for line-art borrowing of Romanesque ornament and stonework texture.
