Randolph Caldecott : a personal memoir of his early art career
Henry Blackburn's 1887 memoir of the illustrator Randolph Caldecott, published in London by Low, Marston, Searle & Rivington for readers and collectors following his death at forty. Reproductions run from loose pen sketches of countrymen and animals to finished engraved plates of figures in landscape and a tonal floral border with beaded moulding, giving designers line-drawn character studies, gesture studies of horses, and decorative page frames.
