R.B.S. Modern British sculpture
A survey of contemporary British sculpture issued by the Royal Society of British Sculptors and published in London by Country Life around 1900, aimed at collectors, architects and members of the profession. The 108 halftone plates photograph marble, bronze and plaster works against dark studio backdrops: standing and crouching nudes, portrait busts, reliefs and monument models, giving designers isolated figures with strong single-source lighting and clean silhouettes against black.
