Rebel cartoons : reprinted from the 1917-18 and 1918-19 issues of "The Rebel"
A collection of student-magazine caricatures reprinted from the 1917-18 and 1918-19 runs of The Rebel, a University of Toronto periodical, issued in Toronto in 1920 for a campus readership. The drawings are pen-and-ink portraits of academics — hatched faces in spectacles, men amid stacked books, one figure in Greek robes against solid black — offering line-portrait heads, white-on-black plates and lettered book spines.
