A treatise on the physics of heat by the Genevan natural philosopher Pierre Prevost, printed in 1792 at Geneva and Paris for a scientific readership. The indexed images are all the same relief-printed ornament — a solid black disc split by a white cross into four quarters, repeated at varying sizes with ink bleed, foxing and faint ghosted title type around it.
