A French treatise on the causes and effects of electrical phenomena by the abbé Jean Antoine Nollet, printed in Paris by the Frères Guérin in 1749 for natural philosophers and physicians. The plates here are typographic ornaments: symmetrical acanthus headpieces, urns and swags, and small foliate tailpieces in coarse relief-cut black, usable as dividers, spot ornaments and chapter openers.
