Records of the coinage of Scotland : from the earliest period to the union
A two-volume documentary history of Scottish minting compiled by antiquary and numismatist R. W. Cochran-Patrick, published in Edinburgh by Edmonston and Douglas in 1876 for collectors, archivists and legal historians. The line engravings reproduce coin and seal dies, heraldic shields with mottoes in Gothic lettering, and diagrams of mint apparatus such as balances and suspended weights, alongside oval library ownership stamps; useful sources of medieval letterforms, emblem roundels and simple technical schematics.
