A 66-plate suite of etchings after drawings made in Italy by various artists, published by François Basan in Paris in 1771 and engraved largely by Carl Wilhelm Weisbrod and Adélaïde Allou for architects, ornamentists and collectors of Roman antiquities. Plates show vases, altars, tripods, grotesque pilaster panels and carved brackets in fine outline etching with light hatched shading, isolated on blank grounds and usable as ornament silhouettes, border stock or scalable spot motifs.
