Recueil d'antiquités égyptiennes, étrusques, greques et romaines
A seven-volume antiquarian catalogue of Egyptian, Etruscan, Greek and Roman objects compiled by the comte de Caylus and issued in Paris from 1752 for collectors and scholars. Outline etchings record statuettes, herms, masks, vases and terminal figures front and back, often several numbered items floating on one plate, giving designers clean contour figures and isolated object silhouettes.
